    great shot. if you were shooting at 1/5000th, how come 6400 ISO? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Great question!
    So here it goes, I really love the idea of making photographs in the dark and I know your asking "this isn't in the dark". I have been doing a lot of that lately, LOVE Nikon!. Anyway, I have gotten into the habit of shooting aperture priority (which in a sense is "automatic" but not really). I like using aperture priority because I can just concentrate on the image, but sometimes that can get me into trouble.

    So we went to lunch and I had my camera with me, as usual:-) I saw the bottle and shot it then noticed after shooting a few other shots that my camera was on 6400 ISO ARG!! I didn't change the setting from the last time I was shooting which was at night and really COLD!! But I thought It's a NIKON no problem so I reset my ISO to an appropriate ISO and kept on shooting:-)
    So basically in the past it would have been a mistake but now with Nikon it wasn't a mistake at all:-) It is always best to shoot with the lowest possible ISO for the best for image quality when possible, even with Nikon.

    So to make a SHORT story even longer, I wasn't paying attention and I am usually surprised when I see the metadata when I am making my post.

    Maybe I should try shooting on MANUAL mode for a while, but I do love aperture priority though:-)
